Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of tackle and gear shall I bring? We will send you a gear and tackle list with your reservation confirmation that is customized for your specific expedition.

Can I bring any of the fish home with me? At Bay Anglers, we practice catch and release with roosterfish and marlin, and encourage release of other species, but we leave the choice up to the clients. Clients who choose to harvest their fish can have it smoked or frozen and packed for transport back home, after enjoying a great meal of it first, of course.

Do I need a passport?  All US citizens now need a passport for travel to Mexico. Canadians need their passport if they are traveling through the US by land or air. Currently, Canada recommends traveling internationally with your passport, but it is not mandatory for travel to Mexico, as long as it is a direct flight from Canada to Mexico. Requirements are slated to change, so be sure to check the current status at passportcanada.gc.ca. For other nationalities, please check with your State Department.

Where is the nearest airport?
The Los Cabos International Airport at San Jose del Cabo is an hour south of Los Barriles, which is our East Cape headquarters.

Can I bring a non-fishing guest with me?
Of course, just let us know what your lodging and activity needs are and we´ll update your package price accordingly.

What other activities are available?
If you want to add a non-fishing day to your vacation, or if you have non-fishing guests, we can help arrange any of the following activities: scuba-diving, snorkling, kayaking, eco-tours, jet skiing, mountain biking, birding, beach lounging, desert racing, atv tours, a day at the spa, golfing, shopping tours to Cabo San Lucas or Todos Santos, horseback riding.
